My Kids

My kids have been begging me for the longest time to get some additional TV channels. I am really hesitant because the last thing I want is for them to get totally addicted to TV but you know, at the end of the day I guess there are a lot of educational shows I could encourage them to watch. I actually went on www.satellitetv-hq.com the other day and looked up the channel lineup and it made me feel much better about the programs that are available for kids. Not only that, but my kids are really good and I know that if I tell them they are not allowed to watch a particular show they won't. The last thing I want is for them to fry their brains watching trash like The Real World and stuff like that. I can't believe some of these networks are allowed to air what they do but I know when I was growing up the only show I wasn't allowed to watch was The Simpsons!

Double Duty Dinner

I had been craving a meal of all meals. I was eager to create Chicken Cordon Bleu with fresh garlic and herbs. I even had a craving for something unusual for my side dishes like creamed cauliflower, red pepper chutney, and rosemary sourdough bread! This was all too good to keep to myself so I invited my friends over for this wonderful dinner on Friday night for some much needed catching up. It had been months since our last dinner together and we were all very excited. The kids rushed off immediately to play the evening away. Dinner was a long and leisurely one and we discussed every topic from kids to bills. My best friend told me she had learned that TXU Electric Deals offered a wealth of information on ways to save money with their helpful tips from the many providers for our area in Pasadena. Over chocolate cake and coffee, I told her of the new coupon sites I had found to help me cut the cost of our meals by 30%. Needless to say, this dinner with friends turned out to be as financially helpful as it was fun!

Austin City Limits

If you are a music fan of any kind you have heard of Austin City Limits music show/festival. I have seen it on my directv austin channel guide before and since I live in Austin I figure I might as well watch it. It is really interesting because they have all kinds of artists on there. People in Austin are really passionate about their music and this show really set the scene for how crazy about it they are. You can see a little bit of the town, which I think is the coolest town in the country. A lot of of my friends who live in my old home town of Atlanta will come out here to visit occasionally and they love Austin so much that one of them even decided to move here. I have started wondering if the ones who still live in Atlanta are coming here to visit me or the city of Austin itself. Whether it is me or Austin I don’t really care because I love to show off my new city to everyone that comes through.
